Your Safety is Our Priority

Every charter with Go Romana is backed by experienced crews, maintained vessels, and strict safety protocols.

Experienced Crews

Every vessel is operated by a licensed captain and trained crew with extensive knowledge of Dominican waters, local conditions, and emergency procedures.

Maintained Vessels

All boats in our fleet are regularly inspected and maintained to meet safety and seaworthiness standards. Safety equipment including life jackets, fire extinguishers, and first aid kits are aboard every vessel.

Weather Monitoring

We monitor weather conditions continuously. If the Armada Dominicana (Dominican Navy) determines conditions are unsafe, charters will be rescheduled. We will never put your safety at risk.

Emergency Communication

All vessels carry VHF radios and the captain maintains communication with port authorities and our onshore team throughout the charter.

Guest Responsibilities

  • Listen to and follow all instructions from the captain and crew
  • Wear life jackets when instructed, especially children and non-swimmers
  • Drink responsibly — the crew reserves the right to limit alcohol service for safety
  • Supervise children at all times — crew are not lifeguards
  • Inform the crew of any medical conditions, allergies, or disabilities before departure
  • Wear appropriate footwear on deck (non-marking, non-slip soles recommended)
  • Apply sunscreen — the Caribbean sun is significantly stronger than most guests expect

Water Activities

Swimming, snorkeling, paddleboarding, and other water activities are available on most charters. Please note:

  • All water activities are at the guest’s own risk
  • The crew will advise on current conditions and safe areas
  • Never swim alone — use the buddy system
  • Snorkeling equipment is provided and the crew will brief you on proper use
  • If seas are rough, the captain may restrict water activities for your safety

What to Bring

  • Sunscreen (reef-safe preferred)
  • Sunglasses with a strap
  • Towels
  • Any personal medications
  • Motion sickness medication if prone to seasickness
  • A light cover-up or rash guard for sun protection

Departure Points

Charters depart from two locations:
